fill in the blank friday - EIGHT!

1.   The best thing I did all week was    find out that I have the chance to help a child whose family is in desperate need possibly get some clothes and food.

2.   Sour gummy worms     make me super happy.

3.  Pets are   one of the greatest joys in life.

4.    The love of God and the chance to share that love with others   is the best thing about my life.

5.  With the cooler weather I am looking forward to   wearing scarves and boots, curling up with a blanket and a good book, hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows, crisp leaves, football and fall traditions in the cool autumn air, and CHRISTMAS!

6.  Something that's on my "wish list" right now is    a white oxford shirt, some great brown loafers, and a cool knit hat.

7.  This weekend I am going to    be working on getting more stuff for our giving project, be working on stuff for school, possibly going to some yard sales, going to church, and who knows what else yet...  All with my wonderful husband! :)

Coming up!
I'm pretty excited about the latest Goodwill haul I made, so once I finish washing all the stuff I got I'm going to be sharing. I'm getting more passionate about thrifting, so I want to try and share more of that with y'all.

fill in the blank friday - SEVEN.

1.   You should always take time to   let others know you love them. because without love, we're nothing.

2.   Children     make(s) the world a happier place to be.

3.  I can hardly wait for   fall to start!

4.   Friday   is my favorite day of the week.

5.  Something totally dumb and ridiculous that I love is   buying school supplies and getting them ready for the new year.

6.  If I could, I would   adopt all the children I've ever know who have needed a home and a family to love them, and who have needed support because of some sort of delay. There have been so many and I have always wanted to be able to take them in but haven't been able to.

7.  I rather like    spending good quality time with the husband and the puppies.

fill in the blank friday - 6!

1.   My most favorite birthday was   probably my 24th birthday, because it was my first birthday spent with Nate when we were married and my first birthday spent in our first house. :)

2.  My worst birthday was    probably the year my friend got my cat stuck up in a tree. That might have been my sixth birthday?

3.  My favorite birthday memory is     just getting to spend time with family and friends.

4.  The best birthday present I've ever received was   my new purse!

5.  The  best birthday present I've ever given was      ...I don't know. I guess you'd have to ask the people I've given presents to!

6.  Birthdays are   a great way to celebrate life and growth, how far you've come and where you're going. They're great times to spend with loved ones and show them your love with gifts. They're also fun when you're the recipient! :)

7.  My favorite age so far has been   26 definitely. I know it's just started, but so far this year is starting out to be a big one and I can't wait to see where it's going!

If you want to join up, go here to 'the little things we do' and follow the instructions. And have fun! :)

Oh, and speaking of birthdays and celebrations, our blog has officially reached ONE HUNDRED POSTS

Also, little Miss Cocoa Beans turned TWO YEARS OLD this past weekend!

We celebrated with a birthday haircut!

And here she is with her gift. She LOVES it! :)

We also have some big news coming up, but I'll wait and save that for later. ;)

So, is anyone else out there as obsessed with your dogs as we are?

fill in the blank friday - five!

Well, today was the last day of our summer program at school! And while I'm very excited about having some time off, I have to say I'm pretty sad about seeing some of the children go. Not all of the kids who were in the program are going to be returning to the school, so I probably won't be seeing them again. They'll be going off to other schools. And a few of the children who have been at my school will now be going on to public school or to classrooms for children without disabilities. Sooooooo...even though I'm really going to miss them, it's pretty awesome that they're getting to take this big step! And it really is what we ultimately want for all of our children - to be able to move on to an environment where they can be fully included.

Anway. It's FRIDAY! And we all know what that means - filling in the blanks! So, here we gooooo...

1.   My go to outfit for a dress-up occasion like a wedding is   a dark purple Taylor dress that I absolutely love and look for any excuse to wear.

2.  This week has been    very full. And revealing. And major.

3.  When it's dinnertime and I'm feeling lazy I'll usually eat     omelettes. Or grits and salmon patties. Or a big salad.

4.  My favorite pair of shoes is   probably the boots Nate got me for Christmas last year. Or my new chucks.

5.  A random item that I own that is completely unnecessary, but that I could never part with is      this vintage glass decorative piece that belonged to my grandmother when she was alive. It's pretty cool, but it looks more like a marijuana smoking device than a vase.

6.  My favorite person is    well, obviously, the husband. ;)

7.  If I were going to write my own blank it would say   "What is your favorite way to spend a Saturday morning? What are you going to do tomorrow morning?"

If you want to join up, go here to 'the little things we do' and follow the instructions. And have fun! :)

Oh, and answer my fill in the the blank in a comment, too!

fill in the blank friday - FOUR!

So, it's 'fill in the blank friday!' But first, here are some sneaky pictures I took of Nate after one of our nightly tennis games this week at our apartment's court. After we play, while I'm cooling down he likes to do all sorts of tricks with the balls. And while he wasn't looking, I snapped some shots of him playing. ;)

That's my hubs! And now for filling in the blanks...

1.   My favorite color is       green. Not lime green. Not dark green. I'm talking full on bright, happy GREEN.

2.  My travel destination of choice is    small towns with character. Whether on the coast or in the mountains, I just love going somewhere cozy where the people are friendly and where I can find things I wouldn't find anywhere else. I also think these places are where you can truly experience the culture of an area.

3.  My favorite  food is    pineapple and pepperoni pizza. Specifically, from Bellacino's.

4.  My happy place is   the bathtub. I know a lot of people think baths are gross and unsanitary. But there is nothing I love more than a long, hot bubblebath.

5.  My favorite saying is      "Worrying does not take away tomorrow's troubles; it takes away today's peace." I get very anxious about things and I need this reminder daily.

6.  My dirty little secret is  that I don't buy ribbed takes made for women. All my tanks/undershirts are Hanes and come from the mens department in WalMart.

7.  Something friends might say about me is that I    am really bad about calling people back, probably! I am the biggest flake when it comes to that. I try SO hard and then I always end up forgetting.

If you want to join up, go here to 'the little things we do' and follow the instructions. And have fun! :)

fill in the blank friday - number THREE.

1.   One of my happiest moments ever was       our wedding day. Which was in summer. In June, the month of weddings! Because Nate wanted it as close to his birthday as possible. He wanted it ON his birthday but I told him we were NOT getting married on a Monday!

2.  Summer is wedding season and weddings are    a multitude of things, depending on the couple and the ceremony and all the other factors involved. But it is important to remember that a wedding does not a marriage make. :)

3.  This summer     has been good. I've been able to work at a wonderful school with some amazing children. Nate and I have been able to share some great new memories in our new home with each other and with family and friends. And we have had some pretty big learning and growing experiences.

4.  My summer food of choice has been   giant salads filled with grape tomatoes. And fresh peaches. And boiled peanuts. Mmmmm, mmmmm!

5.  My summer uniform has been     Skirts, tees and sandals. It's been 100 degrees and over so much lately that it's been hard to do to much with my clothes lately.

6.  If I could spend the entire summer in one location I would choose      somewhere in Italy. Sorrento would be nice .

7.  My summer anthem is       "Brown Eyed Girl" or "Jack and Diane" Those are definitely the first two that come to mind.

If you want to join up, go here to 'the little things we do' and follow the instructions. And have fun! :)

And now I am going to go finish cleaning this messy place up and get ready for a dinner date with the hubbers. K bye.

fill in the blank friday - TWO!

1.   I am a (morning, evening, middle of the day person)    a night and evening person, definitely. I'm working on being more of a morning person because my job really requires it, but I'm not having much success with that. And opposites do attract, because Nate is very much a morning person!

2.  My favorite Pandora stations are    my Van Morrison and Counting Crows station. And my most FUN station is my Party in the USA one. And no, I am not ashamed of it. :)

3.  3 of my "must-have" songs for a road trip playlist are     "How Sweet It Is" by James Taylor, the previously mentioned "Party in the USA" by Miley Cyrus (i don't like her. i just enjoy the song.) aaaaaaannnnnnnndddddddddddd Counting Crows "Accidentally in Love". Right now, anyway.

4.  My favorite pattern is   probably a nautical stripe. And I know it's not a specific pattern but I absolutely LOVE the print on any vintage Pucci scarf.

5.  My favorite perfume is     Clinique Happy. I've been wearing it since I was in high school. :)

6.  Rules are      my life, haha! Sadly, I adhere to rules pretty strictly. I'm trying to change that bit by bit so that I can experience life a bit more fully. It's definitely a challenge.

7.  My most overused phrase or punctuation is      probably according to Nate, "She's a mess," or "He's a mess." I use that phrase to refer to people all the time. It could mean they literally are a MESS. Or that they're crazy. I use it to refer to my kids a lot when they're a handful or when they have a lot of personality. But it drives him CRAZY because he never knows what it means! Maybe it's a southern thing? Or maybe it's just a me thing? I don't know.
